Cheney Today

Cheney's weekend hunting accident being merely his way of giving a tragic personal focus to a destructive personality and therefore nothing really essentially newsworthy, it seemed to me more useful to note the remarkable, if nonetheless pathetic, attempts by people who I take it think they are "conservatives" to spin the events. The wisest approach, if still futile, it seemed to me was taken by one blogger who takes the three little pigs approach and attempts to extinguish the bad news by ignoring it.
More hilarious (and perhaps thereby less mind-blowing) was the tack taken by the guests, at least, of one right wing radio nut today who explained that the hunter has too much to think about when he's shooting to be expected to notice if he's firing at a human, whose responsibility it is instead to stay out of the way of the bullets.
