Impeachment underneath it all

Impeachment of the President is becoming a less eccentric dream day by day. Whether it will ever escape the taint altogether depends on whether substantial numbers of Republicans in Congress take up the practice of representative democracy once again. The March 6 Wall Street Journal article comparing current popular support for impeaching Bush to erstwhile support for the impeachment of Clinton -- who could easily have been shown to be responsible for war crimes and crimes against peace -- indicates that the light is slowly dawning even on capitalist running dogs, who realize they may have to explain why a semen stained dress is more monstrous a shock to the imagination than the grisly dismemberment of tens of thousands of individuals, not to mention the society of which they were once a part. How far can reason take us? That is unfortunately up to the likes of Sensenbrenner, Hastert, Frist, Roberts et al.
