Democrats' loser linguistics - Los Angeles Times

An interesting scan of Democratic party linguistics from the June 12, 2006 Los Angeles Times. This kind of analysis is what American political life needs, but in greater depth and with many examples. It fills us with wonder that Ronald Reagan is able to persuade large numbers of people that he is a "great communicator" without the benefit of anything coherent to communicate. With GW Bush it is orders of magnitude more obvious that he has only the most tenuous grasp of reality, yet we find ourselves awash in an Orwellian whirl of nonsensical "ideas" like a "war", by which we mean war, of all things, on terror, defense of marriage, and a "scientific" method based on the idea that experimental evidence is irrelevant, or at least not as good as divine hallucination.
